Fishing In & Around Lake Lure, NC
Lake Lure is a deep, lake with a maximum depth of 104 feet. Both warm and cold-water species of fish inhabit Lake Lure, such as large mouth and small mouth bass, trout, bream/bluegills, crappie, perch, white bass, carp and several species of catfish. In summer months, gradient layers of progressively colder waters form in the lake, but turn over to a uniform temperature in the winter

Fishing Licenses
You may purchase a license by calling the N.C. Wildlife Office at 1-888-248-6934, if you have a credit or debit card & a valid driver’s license. When you call, you will be given a “license code” to keep with you, so that you can start fishing immediately. Your actual license will be mailed to you.
All fishing requires a N.C. Fishing License & if fishing for trout, you must have the additional “Trout Stamp” on your license
License Fees:
N.C. Resident: $7 for 10 days (w/o trout stamp $20 yr. (w/o trout stamp)
Non-Resident: $18 for 10 days (w/o trout stamp) $36 yr. (w/o trout stamp)
**Trout Stamp is an additional $13
16 yrs. & under may fish w/o a license, as long as they are accompanied by an adult, with a valid N.C. Driver’s License.
**65 years & over “Life Time” license $15 (includes trout stamp)
